Auditions: The Incredible Undersea Trial of Joseph P. Lawnboy

The Incredible Undersea Trial of Joseph P. Lawnboy tells the tale of Joe, a well meaning but unaware young man, as he’s put on trial for “crimes against the sea.” But this is no ordinary trial – Joe’s defense lawyer is a mayfly larva, the prosecuting attorney’s a deep diving loon, and the star witness is none other than Greta, the Singing Fish. Will Joe win his freedom before his air runs out?

Musical Comedy/Courtroom Drama

Cast:
Joe – M, 20s-40s (pretending to be 17) – tenor (lead in two songs)
Greta – F, 20s-40s – soprano (lead in two songs)
Darlene – F, any age – any voice (backup in all songs)
Fred – M, any age – baritone (lead in one song)
Narrator – M/F, any age – any voice (backup in all songs)

Will also consider additional actors as understudies.

Will have script, sides and musical cuts posted to Open Road website soon.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
Additionally please prepare an acapella song: a verse and chorus will do just fine.
