On July 27, 2025, the Hamma Fire was reported along the FS-2480 in the Hamma Hamma drainage on Washington Department of Natural Resources state land, northeast of the Bear Gulch Fire. To support suppression efforts and ensure firefighter and public safety the following roads and trails on the Olympic National Forest will be closed effectively immediately:
Roads:
- NF-2401
- NF-2480
- NF-2421
- NF-2441
- NF-2464
- NF-2469
- NF-2471
- And all spur roads accessed from them
Trails:
- Jefferson Ridge Trail
- Lower Elk Lake Trail
- Elk Lake South Trail
- Upper Elk Lake Trail
- Jefferson Lake Trail
Currently the Hamma Hamma Campground, Lena Creek Campground and the Lena Lake Trailhead and all other day use sites, trails, and trailheads on FS-25 remain open. Conditions will continuously be evaluated and may lead to additional closures.
