Some folks thrive in the center of the action. They’re the doers, movers and shakers who keep things advancing forward. Jason Andrew is one of those people. As Financial Advisor for OFS Financial Services located at Olympia Federal Savings & Loan Association, Andrew is celebrating his 10th anniversary in 2025. Last month, he was also inducted into the Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) Athletic Hall of Fame for an incredible career as a baseball player from 1999 to 2002.
As he looks over these experiences, Andrew is grateful to be surrounded by such amazing, hardworking colleagues, players, teammates and friends. Next time you swing by OFS Financial Services office in Tumwater, tell him congrats and good luck towards the next ten and beyond.
A Lifelong Go-Getter, Jason Andrew Makes Helping People Job One
Andrew was a highly recruited baseball player out of high school, and he chose to join the PLU team because it was close to home, had a strong program and the school had an excellent business program. During his pitching career at PLU, he was an all-conference selection many times over, team captain and is still the school record holder for wins (27), innings pitched (360) and strikeouts (332).
After college, he went on to pitch four years with the Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds organizations, advancing to AAA level. Sidelined by injury, he pivoted to guiding others through wealth management thanks to his PLU business degree but still coaches local teams on the side.
Drawn into coaching by a friend, Andrew started helping with a high school team in 2009. He eventually transitioned to coaching his own kids. “There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping young athletes learn the game, build confidence and grow not only as players but as teammates and individuals,” he says. “It’s been a privilege to walk alongside them in their athletic journeys and to stay connected to the sport I love.”
You can also find Andrew refereeing high school basketball or supporting wife Carrie, who volunteers with local schools and the community. “We really believe we can have a meaningful and positive impact by helping young people find opportunities to thrive in their lives,” he says. “These were powerful and transformational lessons I learned in life and I want to give back in similar ways.”
Taking His Place in the 2025 PLU Hall of Fame Class at Pacific Lutheran University
This year, Andrew was inducted into the 2025 Hall of Fame class at Pacific Lutheran University. He says he’s deeply honored not just as an alum, but because PLU has always been part of his life. “My dad is an alumnus and I grew up just down the road from campus, watching Lute athletics with admiration and excitement,” he adds.
Andrew remembers watching a Hall of Fame induction as a sophomore. “That moment left a lasting impression on me,” he says. “I knew right then that I wanted to work toward a career that would be remembered in the same way, a career that could leave a mark on the program and earn a place among the names I looked up to.”
Andrew describes the induction ceremony as a full-circle moment. He was surrounded by family, friends and fans. Even more special was having his own children there to experience the moment, as well as they are now old enough to appreciate what this honor truly means. Following the induction ceremony, he was also invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch the next day and have his son Carson behind the plate to catch it. “Sharing that moment with him on the field at the place where so many of my own memories were made was something I’ll cherish forever,” he says.
Growth and Success Go Hand in Hand for Jason Andrew
Working from the ground up, Andrew kick-started OFS Financial Services located at Olympia Federal Savings & Loan Assoc in 2015. He credits the tremendous top-down support they’ve received for their growing success over the years. “Not a lot of programs care about their employees like our team does,” says Andrew. “It’s an incredible group to be part of.”
OFS is working to expand their focus, says Andrew, so they can offer a more well-rounded approach to financial planning. By including insurance solutions as well as investment services, OFS supports every stage of your financial journey by protecting what matters most.
