Scheduled relaxation may sound like an oxymoron. But unlike jumbo shrimp or organized chaos, we should all make time to take time off. Whether from illness, stress, workload, politics or juggling family duties, we’re all overdue for a break. Book a visit to the new 360 Wellness Lounge and take that first step into rejuvenation.
Founder Amber Ficek opened 360 Wellness Lounge in April 2024 and works hard to create a space for rest and recovery. With introductory packages for new clients, she’ll happily walk guests through the different steps offered for body, mind and spirit.
Personalized, Holistic Therapies for Well-Being at Olympia’s 360 Wellness Lounge
Ficek says that 360 Wellness Lounge has the services you may need for healing, rejuvenation, and mental and physical health all in one spot. “Our community is so physically active, from experiencing what the Pacific Northwest has to offer outdoors to playing indoor competitive sports,” she adds. “What we offer is a place to holistically recover from those activities so your body can feel its best and continue those activities. The icing on the cake is that our treatments also help you gracefully age and nourish your body.”
Services and treatments include compression, cryotherapy, dry float, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Infrared Light Therapy and Salt Dry Sauna.
For example, the hard-shell Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) chamber provides 100% pure oxygen in a pressurized environment, says Ficek. “When this happens, your lungs gather more oxygen than they possibly could by just breathing,” she explains. “HBOT can be used to strengthen the immune system, bring oxygen-rich plasma to tissues, form new skin and collagen and skin cells, and contribute to healing everything from burns to bone disease. You can even bring your phone, iPad or book in with you for the hour you spend in the chamber.”
But it’s not a claustrophobic experience, she laughs. “We have clients who use this treatment that are 6-foot, 4-inches, so there’s plenty of room. Inside you control your experience with the lights and even air conditioning. There is a plush pillow, and you can bring in a blanket since most clients end up taking a nap.”
Whole body cryotherapy is just what it sounds like…very chilly. “But I promise every single person comes out of their session wanting to do it again and feel great,” says Ficek. “They feel cold, but great. Cryo isn’t just for those at the gym, it is a treatment everyone can benefit from and helps with injuries, inflammation and hormones. If you can jump into the bay and swim then you can do Cryo for 3 minutes. One session is equivalent to a 30-minute ice bath without getting wet.”
Tired of Feeling Tired? Make 360 Wellness Lounge a Partner in Health Today
Ficek didn’t come from a wellness background but grew tired of battling health issues and feeling run down. “Pulling the trigger to open 360 Wellness Lounge comes from having to go to multiple spots to help treat eczema, recovery for a spinal fusion surgery, Hashimoto’s Disease and minor injuries my kids got from sports,” she explains. “My family was tired of never feeling 100% and being pumped full of meds to help.”
While visiting relatives in Arizona, they found similar wellness hubs and looked forward to using them. That’s when Ficek and her husband decided to build something similar in our community. They met with multiple manufacturers and tested several treatments to determine which they wanted to integrate then shipped most of the equipment over from Europe.
Olympia locals for more than 30 years, Ficek waited for the right time. “It feels that Olympia is finally taking a turn after the last few years, and I wanted to be a part of the new image,” she says. “The Thurston County Chamber of Commerce has been so supportive and given me many networking opportunities I wouldn’t have known about. I am also part of an amazing PNW small business, women’s group that has been the best set of cheerleaders and are incredibly smart, business-savvy women.”
Neighboring small businesses have also been great to work with, she says. “I haven’t felt a sense of negativity or competitiveness,” says Ficek, “and love how Olympia business owners really do want to see other businesses thrive. Really, it comes down to friends and family members that were helpful in every aspect from marketing to design to collaborating to sharing tips and tricks to grow. There has been blood, sweat and tears that have gone into this and I’m so grateful for them helping me stay on track with my vision and mission.”
Give Your Mind, Body and Soul a Refreshing New Outlook
To book sessions, you can book online, call the shop at 360.890.6451 or stop by in person. Chat through their website or email contact@360wellnesslounge.com with questions. For newbies, Ficek says her favorite combo is the salt sauna, infrared pod and then cryotherapy. “The beauty of it is that all takes only 70 minutes so you can do it during your lunch break without having to redo your hair or makeup. With fall approaching, I plan on getting over missing the sunshine by warming up in the sauna then giving my skin all the good stuff from the infrared pod.”
They treat guests of all ages, including Ficek’s two children aged 9 and 11. There is also an in-house Esthetician (360.489.5044) and in-house Hair Stylist (360.402.1422) who can cut, color and style. Whatever you need to pause, refresh and recharge, 360 Wellness Lounge is there to help.
