The Shelton Family YMCA is launching a new 13-week program called Actively Changing Together (ACT!) starting September 11, 2024. ACT! supports overweight youth and their parents in making healthy lifestyle changes. During this experiential learning program, participants are taught how exercise can be fun and healthy food can taste good!

Registration is underway for the fall program and the Shelton Family YMCA is currently recruiting more family participants. To qualify, participants must be youth ages 8-14 with a BMI≥85% and have a referral by a medical practitioner. Don’t have a referral? Just give us a call and we’ll connect you to a practitioner in our network.

ACT! is offered free to the Mason County community with a one-time registration fee. By participating in ACT!, you will also receive a free YMCA Family Membership during your time in the program.

Habits are hard to change. The ACT! program helps families actively change together by practicing healthier habits as a team. Get moving, eat better, reduce screen time, and strengthen family and community connections.

Program and registration information can be found by visiting the South Sound YMCA website. For any additional information, please contact Duke Vivian at viviand@ssymca.net or call 360.753.6576 ext. 10257.
