Dr. Sarah Lloyd, Principal Disruptor at Equity Whisperer, has been selected for the prestigious “2024 Women of Excellence” award. This award is presented by the national Women’s Leadership Resource Network with the purpose of highlighting exceptional leadership within the YMCA nationwide.
At South Sound YMCA, Dr. Sarah Lloyd fosters transformative leadership. She has sparked culturally responsive processes through her innovative and dynamic approach, paving the way for systemic equality. Her work locally has set a standard within the national YMCA movement, specifically around Equitable Governance, and her work with Y leaders is impacting lives around the country. Her genuine and lively personality makes her a relatable figure and role model who motivates and empowers those around her.
Dr. Lloyd emphasizes courage in decision-making, the growth in discomfort, and the elegance of simple solutions. Additionally, her dedication to “seven generations” leadership is demonstrated through her mentorship of other women who she encourages to ascend to leadership roles and create ripples of positive change that goes beyond the local community.
The YMCA is proud to have Dr. Sarah Lloyd as part of our organization and thrilled to support her nomination for this reward. Y-USA will be recognizing Dr. Lloyd and other honorees on Friday, March 8, during an online celebration of National Women’s Day.
