Work on Intercity Transit’s Martin Way Park & Ride Direct Access Project will result in several overnight closures of the ramp from Martin Way to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) in May.

The closures, scheduled to occur in May from 8:30 p.m. in the evening until 4:30 a.m. the following morning, are necessary to allow construction work to occur in the ramp lane.

Construction will also require the closure of the right turn lane from westbound Martin Way to northbound I-5. The closure will be in place for several days over a four-week period. Access from College Street to northbound I-5 will remain open during this lane closure. Southbound access to I-5 will not be affected.

Travelers using Martin Way to access northbound I-5 at this location are advised to use alternate routes during closures. Visit the Intercity Transit website for construction details, including dates and times for the planned closures.

Traffic control measures and detours will be in place during all ramp and lane closures. Construction is weather dependent. Updates or changes to the planned closure dates will be posted on electronic signage to keep motorists informed.

Northbound Olympia Express (Route 620) may experience slight schedule delays due to trips being re-routed to access northbound I-5. Riders should visit the Intercity Transit for details.

Intercity Transit is constructing improvements at the Martin Way Park & Ride to improve bus access and provide faster service for Olympia Express riders. Construction will last through mid-summer.
