The Curative kiosk outside the Washington Center for the Performing Arts is expanding its testing offerings to include rapid antigen tests. The testing kiosk is the result of a partnership between the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, the City of Olympia and Curative to bring convenient testing downtown for artists, audiences and anyone visiting or shopping downtown. Community members can walk up or schedule appointments ahead of time to get tested for COVID-19. The Curative kiosk is located right outside the Washington Center box office across the street from Captain Little.

The Rapid Antigen tests cost $59 with results delivered to your e-mail/phone in 15-30 minutes. If you are interested in getting a rapid test, you can purchase at the Washington Center Box Office and bring it to the Curative kiosk. Patrons interested in rapid tests should allow time for potential lines especially prior to the start of a show.

Curative will continue to provide free PCR tests with results delivered within 24-72 hours from sample receipt at the lab. Free PCR tests are available by walk up or by scheduling an appointment at https://cur.tv/wacenter. Patrons are encouraged to schedule their PCR tests in advance to ensure results in a timely manner. The kiosk hours will be expanding to include weekends and show nights.

For performances, the Washington Center requires a photo ID along with proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test for entry. “We are glad to hear that vaccinations for five to eleven year olds are coming soon,” says Marketing & Sales Director, Tineke Raak. “We understand that finding and scheduling COVID tests can be challenging and present a barrier to attendance,” says Raak. “By partnering with Curative, we hope to make attending live events a little easier for everyone. We hope patrons of Harlequin and downtown restaurants and shops will also take advantage of the Curative testing kiosk.”

The Washington Center is continuing its season this month with The Hip Hop Nutcracker and Seattle International Comedy Competition. Other upcoming events include Studio West Dance Theatre’s production of the Nutcracker, the Olympia Symphony Orchestra, Bee Gees Gold, O Christmas Tea: A British Comedy, and Gabriel Rutledge. Jill Barnes, Washington Center Executive Director, says, “We are so happy to have this opportunity to serve our artists and audiences, but also to take part in the larger context of community health, as we all navigate this pandemic together. The theater, by nature, brings large groups of strangers together, and this is one of a few tools available to complement other mitigations to make it safe to experience live events together.”
