The River Ridge girls swim team hosted cross town rival North Thurston in a 3A South Sound Conference swim meet on October 14, 2021. North Thurston won the meet with a 105 to 64 advantage in the 11 swim events.

First year North Thurston Coach Madelynn Koehler was excited on how her team of 25 worked and competed. “They are all so positive and work so hard which is great to see,” Koehler noted. “We have a lot of potential and a lot of great swimmers. We are excited to go on this adventure and see what we can do as Thurston.”

River Ridge Head Coach Jennie Martin was proud of her team and thrilled to celebrate her seniors on “Senior Night.” “We have 23 on our team and I am just excited on how the year has gone,“ remarked Martin. “I love coaching here at River Ridge and I have a great group of enthusiastic girls that enjoy being together and competing.”

River Ridge heads to Gig Harbor on October 19 before both teams compete at the SSC League Championship for Diving (October 21) and Swimming (October 23) in Gig Harbor.
