On Saturday, September 4, the Shelton Family YMCA pool will reopen to our community! The pool was recently closed following a final, scheduled inspection on Monday, August 9 when it was discovered that the anchor bolts securing the tent to the ground did not perform as designed. Out of an abundance of caution, the pool was closed until new parts arrived and could be replaced.

While the closure was unfortunate, I’m proud that our safety systems and close relationship with the city and our construction partners ensured that we found the problem and were able to remedy the situation in a timely manner. Our Y team showed their dedication to safety and put in a great deal of work to ensure Mason County residents could jump back in the pool as quickly as possible. – YMCA President & CEO, Kyle Cronk

Swim lesson registration is now open to everyone in the community. To sign up and see current pool schedules, visit the YMCA website. Discounted registration is available to facility members.
