Lacey Opens Cooling Center Targeted for Seniors

In response to excessive heat temperatures forecasted for Thursday and Friday this week, the City of Lacey, in partnership with Senior Services for South Sound, will open a cooling center targeted for seniors in our community at:

Virgil S. Clarkson Senior Center
6757 Pacific Avenue SE, Lacey, WA 98503
Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13
2 p.m. – 7 p.m.

The cooling center will operate with the following guidelines:

  • Space is limited.
  • All guests, vaccinated or unvaccinated, are required to wear a face covering and practice physical distancing.
  • Bring your own water and snacks. There will be limited water and no food service available
    on site.
  • Small mammal pets (such as cats and dogs) are allowed, if crated.
