The Port of Olympia’s August 14, 2021 free, family-friendly Movies at the Marina features local favorite Ethan Tucker, food trucks, a beer garden, and American fantasy swashbuckler film, “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” The event opens at 4 p.m.

Vendors

Nicole’s Bar will present The 21+ beer garden with all proceeds supporting the 4 the Love Foundation and Safeplace. Food vendors Bastard Pies, Batdorf and Bronson, Kona Ice, Olympita, and The Washington Center for the Performing Arts will be onsite with food and beverages available for purchase. The beer garden and food vendors will be open from 4 p.m. until 30 minutes before that night’s movie begins.

Entertainment

Enjoy Ethan Tucker’s trademark sound of acoustic roots and layered electric guitars combined with an unmistakable soulful and bluesy vocal, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Born in Olympia, Washington, Tucker has traveled the country with Jimmy Cliff, Buddy Guy, and The Wailers as well as national support slots with musical peers Slightly Stoopid, G-Love, and Michael Franti.

Following Tucker, get ready to rock out to Hard Time as they take the stage from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Hard Time will bring you the sounds of rock and roll music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s as well as some originals.

Movie

Thirty minutes after sunset get your popcorn ready and settle in to watch the 2003 American swashbuckler film “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” (PG-13). Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate “Captain” Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor’s daughter, from Jack’s former pirate allies, who are now undead. Movie begins at 9 p.m.

Vaccination Clinic

Thurston County Public Health will be offering a FREE vaccination clinic at the event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered for anyone age 12 and older. Anyone under 18 needs to have complete the parental consent form through the registration process or be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the clinic. The vaccine is free and no insurance is required. Proof of identification and age is required – any form of photo identification that also shows a birthday is acceptable. Pre-registration is encouraged, but registration at event is welcome as well. Register online.

Know-Before-You-Go

Admission is free and no RSVP is required. Bring your own chairs and blankets and dress warmly, despite the summer sun, as temperatures drop noticeably at dusk. The family-friendly evenings will take place at the lot next to the Swantown Marina Boat Launch Parking Lot located at the Port’s NorthPoint (next to Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill and KGY radio station).

We request that unvaccinated guests wear face coverings and maintain at least 6 feet of social distance while at the event.
