The nonprofit International Mermaid Museum invites you to attend its Summer Show titled Sea Jellies and Sea Stars. These two creatures formerly known as starfish and jellyfish are captivating examples of the marine life seen on the beach and in the ocean in coastal Washington State where the museum is located.

The champagne reception and artist meet and greet is on Friday, July 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The reception is free to attend, and all ages are welcome. The museum’s exhibition hall will be open to patrons and artists to tour in conjunction with the event.

Art patrons can purchase pieces throughout the show which will last through September. Patrons contact the artist directly for payment and pick up the art at the end of the show. The museum does not take a commission on the sale. The display is part of the museum’s effort to support the emerging local art community.

Forty artists from the coastal communities will have their work on display. Medium varies from photography to watercolor to conch shell.

The museum is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is on the grounds of Westport Winery Garden Resort, located halfway between Westport and Aberdeen on the Washington Coast. There is no charge to visit the gallery and gift shop. To enjoy the exhibits there is a $3 admission fee for those over age 5.

The International Mermaid Museum is dedicated to teaching ocean ecology from seashore to sea floor immersed in mermaid mythology uniting world cultures. In addition to being self-sustaining, funds raised by the museum are designated to providing ocean ecology curriculum and scholarship for students seeking careers in the marine industry.
