Putnam Lieb Potvin Dailey LogoLOTT Clean Water Alliance’s Budd Inlet treatment plant treats over 11 million gallons of wastewater a day. More than 99% of this wastewater is water. What makes up the other small percentage? Besides human waste, there’s food particles, paper products, oil and grease, personal care products, cleaning chemicals, and countless other substances. If you missed last week’s science posts, you can still follow the wastewater path and learn from treatment plant experts with our videos.

This week we’re learning about Pacific Northwest animals. What animal migrates from fresh to salt water? Who love to eat sea urchins and clams? Which bird can fly backwards? Visit our Facebook or Instagram Monday through Saturday for a new 9 am science post featuring a different animal. The activities are designed for elementary to early middle school age students.

Share with us your science activity by tagging us on social media or emailing info@wetsciencecenter.org. All Thurston County residents who share their science activities with us will be entered into our weekly raffle. The prize this week is a field guide about mammals!
