Auditor’s Office to Close to Public Beginning on March 18 Due to COVID-19

To protect public and employee health, the Thurston County Auditor’s Office will close to the public beginning on Wednesday, March 18 due to COVID-19. The closure will be reassessed as the public health crisis evolves. Using safe social distancing practices, the Auditor’s office will continue to conduct business.

“Our mission is to provide services to the public,” said Mary Hall, Thurston County Auditor. “We are committed to doing this in the safest way possible.”

Remote services will be available from the Auditor’s Office during this closure. More information on remote options will be posted at ThurstonAuditor.org. Current information can be found below:

Elections

  • Voters who need to return a letter they received from the Auditor’s Office about their Presidential Primary ballot may bring their completed forms to the ballot drop box at the Thurston County Courthouse by Thursday, March 19th by 4:30 p.m. or email it to elections@co.thurston.wa.us

  • The Canvassing Board Meeting on Wednesday, March 18 will be held at the Ballot Processing Center at 2905 29th Ave SW, Ste F
    Tumwater, WA 98512 and is open to the public. More information is here.

  • Voter registration is available through the state’s VoteWA portal.

Licensing

  • Tab renewals can be processed online with the state Department of Licensing. We can mail your tabs to you at no extra charge.
  • Marriage licenses can also be accessed through the mail. If you can get your application notarized, our website includes instructions about how to apply for a marriage license through the mail (Step 4 under “Apply for a marriage license).

Residents doing business with the Auditor’s Office can also drop off documents using a drop box located in the courthouse parking lot at 2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW, Olympia WA.
