We’ve got splendid weather this weekend, so don’t waste it indoors! Instead, head to the adorable town of Tenino for their annual Oregon Trail Days, happening this weekend, July 27-29. This free festival has all kinds of fun things including a parade and a pioneer village with free activities – your kid can learn to throw a tomahawk with Scott “Round Log.” There are also “modern” vendors, a gem and rock show, a black powder competition, and more! Starting at just $25, you can get a ticket to the Four Square Mile Music Festival, which starts Friday, July 27 and continues on Saturday, July 28, featuring home-town country music artist Adam Craig!

In the pioneer village, be sure to stop by and speak to Nancy and Bill at Bill’s Trade Goods and Moore Goods tent (near the tomahawk throwing range). Bill creates incredible paintings and handmade knives, sheaths, pistols and more. Nancy has handmade jewelry and other handmade goods, including toy knives, tomahawks and swords for kids. Right next door Tyler, whose grandfather taught him the art of blacksmithing, which he does on an anvil that is over 150-year-old, ask him where the anvil came from, it’s an incredible story!
