TOGETHER! will be hosting their 9th annual substance use prevention conference this April 18-19, featuring special guest Nicholas Bradford from the National Center for Restorative Justice. This comprehensive training is a valued educational resource for prevention, treatment, and youth development staff throughout western Washington.

Attendees will receive high-quality information as well as collaboration and networking opportunities with other prevention leaders, treatment professionals, law enforcement, educators, health professionals, government officials and community members. Sessions are designed to cover current and emerging issues, latest research findings, best practices and successful local programs. Attendees can attend a variety of informative breakout sessions presented by recognized authorities in their field.

Topics will include: Youth Suicide Awareness and Prevention, Beyond Behavior Management: Confronting Bias, Tailoring Prevention Media for Prioritized Populations, Reducing Death and Harm Associated with Opiate Use, Restorative Practice and Youth Leadership, and Mindfulness in Schools. Nicholas Bradford from the National Center for Restorative Justice will open the conference with a keynote address. The second day of trainings will open with an address from Sam Miller, local comedian and violence prevention specialist with Community Youth Services of Pierce County.

“Healthy Futures: Redefining Prevention” is at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, April 18 & 19. Registration is $275 for both days and includes meals. Discounts are available for single day admission, students and AmeriCorps Service Members. Educator clock hours are available via OSPI.
