Hannah Joy Herzog has announced her engagement to Colton Bruce Mason.  The couple plan to marry on September 3, 2017 in Tenino.

Hannah was born in Orange, California before moving to Washington when she was two.  She lived in Tumwater until she was 23, attending Peter G. Schmidt Elementary School, Bush Middle School and Tumwater High School where she graduated in 2011.  She received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from 2015 from Saint Martin’s University and currently lives in Spokane, attending Washington State University’s College of Pharmacy.  She has worked for Albertsons Sav-On Phamarcy since 2008.

Colton has lived in Washington his entire life.  He was born in Centralia and grew up in Littlerock, attending Littlerock Elementary School, Bush Middle School and Tumwater High School, graduating in 2010.  Colton currently works for FPI Management, a residential property management company, in maintenance and groundskeeping for Copper Landing.

The couple met and dated briefly in high school but reconnected in 2012 when they were both on a dating website.  Colton saw Hannah’s picture and sent her a message.  “I had not talked to him since we dated in high school, about five years prior,” says Hannah.  The couple dated off and on for over a year but didn’t get serious until 2013.  “We have been together for five years, each year better than the last,” she says. “Getting to know each other has been so exciting, rewarding and amazing.  Not only have I found someone I’m comfortable with, I’ve found my best friend and love of my life.”

Colton asked Hannah’s father for permission to marry his daughter on Christmas Eve. “Of course my parents were thrilled and happily gave their blessing,” says Hannah. The couple ended Christmas evening at her parent’s house for a family movie. “He asked right before the movie started. He was so nervous and so sweet. I said YES instantly.”

The couple is planning a Labor Day weekend wedding at Riverbend Ranch in Tenino. “Planning a wedding while living in Spokane has its difficulties but I have an amazing wedding party that has been very helpful. My maid of honor, Kari Cahill, and wedding planner, Jessica Cahill, make a great team.  They have kept me on top of things and go the extra mile to make sure everything is in check on the western side of the state while I’m away.”
