Saving water, conserving energy, reducing waste and buying or selling green are all sustainable steps that improve the health of our community and environment. Businesses who take these steps to lower their environmental footprint find that they save money while protecting and preserving resources.

In Thurston County, businesses who take one or all of these stewardship steps receive recognition for their efforts when they become a Thurston Green Business. It’s easy and FREE to apply for any business located in Thurston County. Applications open from Jan. 1 through March 15. If approved, all businesses receive recognition at the Thurston Chamber Green Business Forum April 12, 2017, and receive a Thurston Green window cling. In addition, the Thurston Green committee selects winners in the small, medium and large green business categories, and those businesses receive special recognition at the event.

Thurston Green Business is a partnership between the City of Olympia, the City of Lacey, the City of Tumwater, Thurston County and the Thurston County Chamber; with support by Puget Sound Energy, Intercity Transit, LeMay, Olympia Federal Savings, Thurston Energy and the Thurston Climate Action Team.
