Ginger says, “The time I spent with Jasmin was invaluable in helping me see the light.” Virginia shares, “I want to thank Jasmin for giving me a picture of how to make my life more rewarding.” And still another person exclaims, “Jasmin is very easy to talk to and listens intently. I know that she has my best interest in mind.” What do all three of these positive women have in common? They are all cancer survivors.
What seemed at first to be a devastating diagnosis became an opportunity for the women with the help of Jasmin Faulk-Dickerson, Certified Holistic Cancer Coach.
Jasmin ascribes wholeheartedly to the belief that cancer can be a gift. “Cancer is the manifestation of stress in our lives,” explains Jasmin. A cancer diagnosis can be a wake-up call and an introduction to a new way of life.

Jasmin helps her clients identify where in their lives they feel overwhelmed. “We can’t cure the cancer unless we heal the mind, body and soul.” Jasmin’s practice, Flora Holistic Health does just that. Together she and the client carve out a plan to alleviate at least some of the stress that Jasmin believes has a significant role in causing the cancer itself.
Jasmin is no stranger to challenging life circumstances. Born in Saudi Arabia, she emigrated to Wyoming in 1999, cutting herself off completely from her family and her home country. She settled in Wyoming and taught classes on Understanding Islam in the Middle East at the University of Wyoming. She studied nutrition and exercise, which would ultimately be the foundation of her holistic approach to healing. In 2009, Jasmin moved to Washington.
In 2015, Jasmin was diagnosed with breast cancer after fearing the disease for most of her life. She quickly recognized her fear was grounded in the unknown. She began a rigorous study of all the available information on cancer and its treatments.

It was at this point she had the epiphany, “cancer is a gift, if you heed the call.” Jasmin navigated through the complex world of traditional medicine along with alternative therapies and changes in her nutrition. She practiced yoga and regular meditation. After beating cancer and realizing she was uniquely qualified to help others, she became certified by the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education. A non-profit organization whose work is better known to the public as BeatCancer.org, CACE’s primary mission is cancer prevention through lifestyle training.
Jasmin begins with a 90-minute consultation. After discussing diagnosis, treatment and prognosis, she is able to filter the many resources and target the best ones for her client. She can recommend books to read, websites to seek out or available retreats. Some clients may need additional help and some may only require the initial consultation.

Jasmin is careful to note that she is not giving out medical advice. Instead her focus is on the host, not the tumor. She wants to heal the overall human, leaving the tumor shrinking to the medical team. A cancer diagnosis can leave a patient feeling helpless and without hope. Jasmin empowers her clients to take control of their recovery. This can include diet changes, meditation, exercise and even role-playing to help them learn to advocate for themselves.
Jasmin plans to hold workshops for cancer patients and their loved ones.
