It’s your chance to try square dancing for free! Come to a free square dance party that gives you an introduction to this exciting activity. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 8 at Olympia’s Lac-A-Do Hall, 1741 46th Avenue NE. The Hall is home to a vibrant group of square dancers, and they will be there to help you as you start dancing right away. Couples, singles and youth ages 10 and up are welcome. No experience necessary.
Square dancing is a healthy and enjoyable activity. You will exercise, laugh, make friends, reduce stress, improve memory skills, enjoy all types of music, and have loads of fun.
Pam and her husband started lessons two years ago. She says, “Joining square dancing is one of the best things that my husband and I have done for ourselves in a long time. Since the first time that we walked into Lac-A-Do hall we have felt that we were a part of things and looked forward to every lesson, dance and workshop. There are a lot of fun and caring people who are as happy to see you as you are to see them. There hasn’t been a day gone by that we’re not grateful for being welcomed into square dancing, and that we have such a beautiful place to dance.”
Pam continues, “We don’t just dance to dance; there’s the fellowship, friendships and the fun! And an added bonus is that unknowingly we not only sharpen our minds, we get good healthy exercise. It won’t cost anything to come try it out, and maybe after you meet us you will want to come back and get to know us better. I truly believe that dancing makes your heart happy.”
