Thoreau defined wealth as “the ability to fully experience life.” But most working Americans would agree that experience comes with—and at—a price. Few of us can consider ourselves wealthy, but anyone and everyone can benefit from experienced wealth management advice like that offered by Olympia Federal Savings’ Jason Andrew.

Jason Andrew brings his wealth management expertise to Olympia Federal Savings as their new Financial Advisor.

Whether planning for retirement, wrangling IRA’s from former employers, or saving for your children’s college fund, finances can feel overwhelming. Look up wealth management trends online and you’ll find a quagmire of terms like “blockchain disrupts, fiduciary rulemaking, and robo-advice platforms.”

This is where the local, knowledgeable staff at Olympia Federal Savings (motto: Our friends call us Oly Fed) come in. For more than 109 years, they’ve been neighbors and guides through all things finance.

Over the last several years, staffers realized that “lots of customers would ask about financial advisors and wealth management,” says Jason. In early 2015, Jason joined Oly Fed’s eight branches as the only licensed financial advisor. In the industry for more than a decade, Andrew stresses that “Oly Fed has done a fabulous job of being community focused and we have tried to continue that.” Under his guidance, they’ve launched OFS Financial.

With a goal to educate customers, Jason offers “across the board” financial services. He meets with interested clients for free consultations and offers quarterly educational events on a broad range of topics. Explains Jason, “Our aim is to limit mistakes through education; clients make better decisions with lots of information at hand.”

Unlike many wealth management programs that focus on the accumulation phase of earning, Jason and OFS Financial also highlight what they call the distribution side. This may entail how to live off your retirement, asset transfer from multiple accounts, or overall estate planning.

For more than 100 years, Oly Fed has been a vibrant part of our community, including the Saint Martin’s springtime Dragon Boat Races.

Consultations frequently begin with Jason “trying to find out your goals and concerns.” He can then guide you towards their many service options: individual stocks, bonds, real estate investments, annuities, life insurance, IRA’s, and financial guidance.

The recent recession has many people uneasy about the best way to save, bank, or invest. But even those of modest means should have a plan for emergencies, retirement, or just a rainy day. Jason encourages that “the minimum amount number is a lot lower than people think” when it comes to successfully planning for your future.

With the success of wealth management services, Jason is busy traveling between branches

Currently, Jason travels between branches in Thurston and Mason counties meeting with customers about their unique needs. The best way to reach him is by calling 360-596-9788 or emailing jason.andrew@ofsinvest.com
