Westport Winery is delighted to announce the addition of a wine club members’ lounge. For those who love to hang out in their iconic lighthouse, this is a similar but larger area to enjoy wine, friends and entertainment, in casual comfort.
The new “members only” space is called the Wheelhouse, again in an homage to the Roberts family’s charter boat history. With a marine-themed décor one of the most exciting features of the new room is the sound of crashing waves in the background while guests enjoy winery co-owner Blain Roberts underwater photographs on a big screen.
Roberts, the founder of Lahaina Divers on Maui, was inducted as a Platinum Pro Diver the same year as Jacques Cousteau in the early 1990s, as one of a handful of divers who had done more than 10,000 dives in their lifetime. Two of his most notable photographs grace the labels of Mermaid’s Merlot and Rapture of the Deep.
For guests of all ages the Wheelhouse includes card and board games, comfortable seating and an overall sense of the underwater world, all within the winery experience. It’s the perfect place to bring friends for a private tasting, quiet conversation or a round of the winery’s incredible appetizers.
Westport Winery and Vineyards By-the-Sea with its unique sculpture garden and grape maze is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and Westport. These award-winning wines are exclusively available at this location. The winery and bakery are open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The restaurant is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and for dinner on Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information contact Westport Winery at 360-648-2224.
