What: Blackberry Bushes Duo. Singing/songwriting siren Jes Raymond and Violin samurai Jakob Breitbach will be performing as a duo at the very intimate Pig Bar. They have a vast repertoire of originals and bluegrass standards, inject their musical sets with fun antics and always have some fun and surprising covers. These newlyweds are seasoned touring professionals currently living in Seattle.

What: Jambot Birthday Bash with Pizza T and zkamp. Pizza T, aka Tommy McCaughen, moved out of state a few years back but is returning to his stomping grounds of Olympia for this special show to honor the birthday of a human/machine music-loving avatar known as a Jambot. Pizza T’s quirky original music is a mix of indie, jam-band and electronic with a lo-fi aesthetic, making use of old MIDI guitars and keyboards. Through the years he has grown a significant fan base, complete with bands that play his band z kamp’s music. This will be a full night of music and a guaranteed packed house of Pizza T/z kamp enthusiasts.

What: Early All-Ages Show with Full Moon Radio, Hot Hoodoo, Captain Algebra, Bangalores. All female band FMR received two ‘Best of Olympia’ awards in the 2013 Weekly Volcano reader’s poll including best new band. This is great all original rock and roll from a band that hit the ground running, recording, and touring and has found a place in the hearts of many. Taking place in the iconic downtown hipster indy rock venue, the back room for rock concerts at Le Voyeur.

What: MUDCAT. The roots of rock and roll, acoustic style. With lots of great song-writing style and an infectious foot-stomping rhythm. This trio is led by the creator of the guitars they play, Daniel Mudcat, and it is always a pleasure to experience their raw acoustic sound.

What: SASSPARILLA. From Portland, this group will take the stage with a tub bass, banjo, guitars, drums, washboards, and many other objects they make musical. Beautiful tight harmonies and raucous handling of their acoustic instruments make for an exciting show, with lots of dancing. The Scuff and Al Show is a local jug band duo with a joyous repertoire of originals and old timey standards. And the show will open with a character known as Shmushkin singing his endearing if mildly raunchy songs.

What: The Brotherhood’s Anniversary Party with The Pixies (tribute band) and Resident Kings. Also DJ Wildman James will be spinning vinyl. This is a fun place to see live music although it is somewhat of a rarity. Celebrate 11 years with The Brotherhood.

Wednesday, December 18
What: Pine Mountain. Joe Cappocia (The Pine Hearts) will assemble a group of Olympia’s finest acoustic musicians including Tye Menser and Derek McSwain of Oly Mountain Boys. Joe is a prolific writer who will be sharing some songs solo, and there will also be some bluegrass picking, and certainly some unnamed special guests.
