In an effort to increase participation and community involvement, the City of Lacey is inviting groups and organizations representing an ethnicity to be a part of the 2014 Ethnic Celebration. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at St. Martin’s University Worthington Center and Marcus Pavilion located at 5300 Pacific Avenue SE.
Vendors, performers, presentations, demonstrations, and informational booths are welcome to apply. The deadline for performance applications is December 12, while the cultural resource and vendor applications are due January 10. Groups are encouraged to provide an activity for children related to their culture.
Lacey’s Ethnic Celebration tries to represent many different cultures and brings a worldly experience to the local level. It provides an opportunity to share information with others and learn about a wide variety of cultures. Different sights, sounds, and tastes from around the world can be experienced at this free community event.
Applications are available online at www.ci.lacey.wa.us/parkevents. For more information about Lacey’s Ethnic Celebration, please contact Jeannette Sieler at (360) 491-0857 or jsieler@ci.lacey.wa.us.
