Women’s Heart Health – Free Presentation By Providence

Cardiologist Phoebe Ashley, MD, Providence Cardiology Associates explains “The Heart of the Matter – Women are not simply small men” during a free presentation Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Great Wolf Lodge from 7-8 p.m.

“Gender does make a different in the risk for heart disease,” said Dr. Ashley. “Symptoms of heart disease in women can be subtle and less predictable.”

Dr. Ashley is a board certified cardiologist at Providence Cardiology Associates with a special interest in women’s and preventative cardiovascular medicine. She was the medical director of the Cardiovascular Wellness and Rehabilitation program at the Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute and a clinical professor in the Division of Human Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Oregon before moving to Washington. Dr. Ashley has lectured on women’s heart issues throughout the Western states.

On Sept. 27, she will explain the unique risks and symptoms in women, and give tips on how to take action.

“Simple changes in your choices can improve your heart health and your life,” she said.
