The second annual “Love Our Local Festival,” a celebration of community through local food, music and art, solar and garden tours, inspirational speakers and activities for kids will happen on Sunday, August 19th from 1:00 – 9:00 pm on closed off streets by the San Francisco Bakery on Olympia’s eastside.
During the afternoon at the LOL Fest, there will also be a demonstration of skills for self-reliance, such as Do-It-Yourself Storm Windows, Pedal Powered Grain Grinding, Seed Saving, and Composting in a Can. For more information on these demonstrations, click here.
Throughout the week, the “Village Building Convergence” will offer a variety of workshops and events such as cob building, skill sharing, and wild-crafting. These will be hosted downtown and in east and west Olympia to re-imagine our neighborhoods as more engaging and vibrant places to connect. Find out more here.
