Tumwater Fireworks Regulations and Notice of Pioneer Park Closure on July 4th

Independence Day / Fireworks Regulations & Safety
It’s nearly Independence Day and for many people, that means it’s time for fireworks.  Are you familiar with the City of Tumwater’s fireworks regulations?

Fireworks sales are only allowed July 1st – 4th from 9:00am to 11:00pm and only by licensed vendors. If you plan to buy fireworks for personal use, it’s best to purchase from a local fireworks stand.  Local stands sell fireworks that are legal in our area.

Fireworks ignition and discharge is allowed only on July 3rd and 4th from 9:00am to 11:00pm. Consumer fireworks are the only fireworks allowed to be discharged and also the only fireworks allowed to be sold at stands in Tumwater.

These regulations apply to State-approved Consumer Fireworks only. This does not include such items as fire crackers and bottle rockets which
are legal for sale and use only on the Reservations or illegal explosive devices like M-80′ or tennis ball bombs which are illegal anywhere.
Display fireworks are legal only when used by licensed pyro- technicians and with a City permit.

Descriptions of legal and illegal fireworks are available online: www.ci.tumwater.wa.us.  Still looking for clarification?  Contact the
