July is coming up quickly in the Olympia area! If you have not figured out where you’re going to spend your Independence Day evening, then look no further! We have some of the county’s most popular 4th of July events right here.

South Sound Center Independence Day Celebration: July 3rd

(711 Sleater Kinney Rd. SE Lacey, Interstate 5 Exit 108).

Celebrate our nation’s independence a day early with fun youth activities, great summer food including elephant ears and kettle corn, music, and fireworks. The gates open at 6PM. Then, kick back for some great entertainment from the American Legion Band will be performing from 7-9PM. The fireworks will begin at roughly 10:PM. There is no cost to attend this event except for parking, which costs $5.

The coordinators for this event would love to have volunteers to help out, so if you would like to volunteer please contact: Sandy Caron 360-491-6850

Tumwater 4th of July Parade: July 4th

(Capitol Blvd. Tumwater, WA 98501)

Enjoy the fireworks and some fun extras at Tumwater’s Independence Day Parade! This year the theme is, “Heart of a Champion,” and it begins at 11AM. This time, don’t just watch the parade form the sidelines get in it! Tumwater Parks and Recreation is seeking entries for the parade and vehicles (as well as their owners!) to escort dignitaries in the parade. If you have a convertible, they’d love for you to be an escort driver. If you are interested, call Tumwater Parks & Recreation for a parade entry packet or escort vehicle application.
