The Offut Lake Ice Breakers took their 3rd annual “PolarPlunge” into Offut Lake in Tenino to start off the new year this past saturday morning. Organized by Alan Solem and Terril Keary, the ice cold water seen over a couple dozen jumpers this year. “Jumping into that water signifies a fresh, clean start,” Keary said. “You’re cleansed of everything negative. You feel brand new.” The temperature of the water was in the mid 30’s and the temperature outside was lower than that. There were returning jumpers and first timers that participated. The group plans to continue the tradition again next year at the same location, the Offut Lake Resort.
