If you’re not a man and you’ve been looking for a low-stress, explicitly woman, nonbinary, trans, and femme-welcoming environment to pick up some new skills, this session will prime you for using our basic shop tools in a safe and responsible manner. Our focus this session is on the wood shop, including the power saws, drill press, hand drills, clamps, and power sander. We will cover basic operations and safety procedures for each machine, as well as general shop safety, including specific safety clothing and ergonomics information in environments usually designed around men’s bodies. By the end of this session, you will have a functional mini mason bee house! Ages 12+

Please wear long pants, close-toed shoes, no dangling jewelry, and have the ability to tie back hair.
