On Sunday, May 15th the Community Nature Foundation will present ‘Save Fern Gully Forest!’ an outdoor mini music festival taking place at Fern Gully Forest School featuring a special performance by the Pine Hearts and a day of fun family-friendly activities.

This FUN-raiser event will include a family yoga and sound healing class from 10 am to noon, face-painting, activities, and dance starting at 2 pm followed by an exciting lineup of musicians and performers. There will also be a great raffle of goods and services donated by local artists and businesses, including Radiance Herbs & Massage, Pet Works, Rainy Day Records, Hand & Stone Massage, and the Captain Little Toy Store. The theme will be in celebration of spring and the flower moon of May so bring your friends and flower crowns!

The yoga class and entrance to the festival are by donation to the Community Nature Foundation, a women’s collective 501(c)3 charitable non-profit that focuses on protecting urban forests from development and collaborates on environmental education & community garden projects for building resiliency. Currently, their primary project is to raise funds to Save Fern Gully Forest, which has been an unofficial community forest on the east side of Olympia for many generations. The two acres of beautiful mature forest are owned by a development company. For more information, please check out: www.communitynature.org
