Beautiful landscapes that save water, protect waterways & create habitat!

Dates: Video segments will be made available to participants to watch independently, beginning in late January.

Firm dates will roll out soon!

The popular “Naturescaping” class will be online to be Covid-safe! Join WSU Native Plant Salvage and Stream Team for a multi-part online workshop to learn how to reduce maintenance chores, use less water, and select the best plants for your personal aesthetic and maintenance capacity.

Over the course of several weeks in January and February, participants will take part in a combination of interactive discussion, independent activities, and online instruction on the following “Naturescaping” topics:
-How to attract birds, butterflies, pollinators & other wildlife
-Easy ways to minimize lawn space to create more diverse and layered planting
-How to manage drainage onsite—including adding permeable hardscaping—to protect your home and local waterways
-Landscaping for tricky areas such as slopes
-Plant design principles and using plants for structural goals (slopes, drainage, privacy)
-Recommended native and water-wise plants for our climate
-Defining your goals & creating your “dream” vision
-Implementing your vision, including costs and ways to save money
-How your landscape can protect & conserve local water resources and re-create wildlife habitat—no matter where you live!
