Light & Gold: Great Bend Chamber Choir Concert
Join us for a luminous celebration!
Performed by the Great Bend Chamber Choir in the candlelit intimacy of St. David’s, Light and Gold is a moving invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and let music illuminate the quiet joys of the season.
At the heart of the program are four stunning settings of the ancient text O Magnum Mysterium – from the serene Renaissance purity of Tomás Luis de Victoria, to the lush, modern interpretations by Morten Lauridsen and Ola Gjeilo. Each offers a unique glimpse into the awe and stillness surrounding the birth story.
Eric Whitacre’s Lux Aurumque, a shimmering meditation on “light and gold,” extends the theme with its own modern homage to the Nativity, drawing the listener into a radiant soundscape of hushed reverence and hope.
Come experience centuries of choral tradition in a contemplative tribute to the mystery and wonder of the Nativity.
