Celebrate the art of beer! This free show features over 50 original advertising artworks created for the Olympia Brewing Company during the 1930s through 1950s. These paintings were translated into billboards, and were then meant to be thrown away. Luckily they survived, and offer a rare glimpse into advertising art and social norms of the day.
About half of our art collection was displayed in 2017; this fall, we’ll exhibit the other half–paintings that have never been on public display before.
Before or after the art show, visit Tumwater’s craft breweries: Matchless Brewing, Triceratops Brewing, and Hoh River Brewing. Pick up a passport at the art show, any of the breweries, or at Comfort Inn in Tumwater, get the passport stamped at these locations, then enter your completed passport in a drawing for great prizes, including a free night’s stay at the Comfort Inn, or beer-themed gift baskets!
