“There is no agony like the untold story within you.” So wrote Maya Angelou, pointing out that our stories are more of a means than an end. We tell them to release ourselves, to evolve and grow beyond them. We tell our stories to awaken, to inspire.
To do just that, and to end a season of storytelling that included a command holiday performance at the White House for the President and First Lady, Choral Arts’ 2015-16 finale concert will pair masterworks by Britten and Bernstein with newly commissioned works by Eric William Barnum and Jake Runestad. Special guests: Olympia Youth Chorus Cantabile directed by Terry Shaw.
