Help Kids Cope program

Help Kids Cope. A six-week, emotional support program is for school age children who have a parent, or significant other, diagnosed with cancer. Meeting one night per week, our specially trained staff help demystify cancer, teach coping skills, and provide a safe place for kids to talk about difficult feelings. The program builds on children’s strengths and helps normalize feelings of sadness, anxiety, fear, and anger. At the same time, a parent/caregiver group will meet to learn what to expect from children and help improve family communication.
