A celebration for the whole community, welcoming a new Lead Pastor who has come to town from St. Paul, Minnesota — Pastor Carol Tomer — and marking Good Shepherd’s intentional focus on renewal and outreach and welcoming four additional new staff members. This congregation has been an integral part of the South Sound for almost 65 years. On this festive occasion, the preacher will be Joey Ager, a Scottish transplant to the Pacific Northwest, who is co-author of the book “Faith, Secularism, and Humanitarian Engagement.” The prelude for this celebration, of bagpipes and trumpet, begins at 2:45 pm. The event is planned to be held outside, under the trees beside the church. The rain plan is to gather inside the church building. Masks are requested.
