Are you new to canning or need a refresher course? Join Denise Brownlee, educator from Washington State Extension for a workshop in home food preservation. Topics discussed include how to select and care for jars, pickling and fermenting, jams and jellies, how and when to use a pressure canner, freezing and drying foods and factors affecting processing times. Denise will be available to test pressure gauges after the main presentation. This program is part of Timberland Reads Together, Timberland Regional Library’s one book-one community reading initiative for 2014.
