There’s a lot happening at Penrose & Associates Physical Therapy right now, and the Lacey clinic wants the South Sound to know about it. Between a new provider, an expanded lineup of recovery services, and a fall celebration on the calendar, this is a good time to catch up with what’s new at Penrose.

Welcoming Dr. Steven Roach

Penrose recently added Dr. Steven Roach, DPT, OCS, to its team of physical therapists. Steven specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and sports rehabilitation, bringing hands-on treatment skills to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or the kind of nagging joint and muscle pain that keeps people from doing what they love.

His background in orthopedic manual therapy means he’s trained to assess how joints, muscles, and soft tissue are moving, and to use hands-on techniques to restore that movement rather than relying on exercise alone. That approach pairs well with his work in sports rehabilitation, where the focus is on getting active adults and athletes back to running, lifting, golfing, or playing with their grandkids, not just back to “good enough.” Steven works with patients on everything from post-surgical recovery to overuse injuries to the aches that show up after years of staying active.

Patients working with Steven can expect a thorough hands-on evaluation at the first visit and a treatment plan built around their specific goals, whether that’s returning to a sport, walking without pain, or simply moving more freely day to day. Every new provider at Penrose is chosen for the same reason: a commitment to spending real time with patients and building a plan that fits their specific goals, not a generic protocol.

A New Recovery & Longevity Lounge

Penrose has also opened a Recovery & Longevity Lounge inside the clinic, giving patients and community members access to a range of wellness services designed to support healing, reduce inflammation, and help people feel better day to day.

The lounge includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a soft-sided chamber that delivers oxygen at increased pressure to support the body’s natural healing process. There’s also Pulse PEMF, red light therapy, an infrared sauna, and compression therapy, each offering a different way to support recovery, circulation, and overall wellness. These services are available on their own or as part of a membership, and they’re open to anyone in the community, not just physical therapy patients.

Between the lounge and the clinic’s regenerative therapies, like shockwave therapy, EMTT, and dry needling, Penrose is positioning itself as more than a typical PT clinic. The goal is to give people in Lacey, Tumwater, and Olympia a place where physical therapy and technology work together, so more people can stay active and avoid unnecessary pain pills or surgery.

19th Anniversary Open House

Penrose is celebrating 19 years of serving the South Sound with an Open House on September 18, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the clinic. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new Recovery & Longevity Lounge, along with a raffle for the first 20 guests to arrive.

Members of the Penrose team will be in attendance to answer questions, offer tours of the lounge, and celebrate with the community.

The Open House comes on the heels of some good news for the clinic: Penrose was voted Best of South Sound for 2026, marking the fourth year in a row the clinic has earned the honor.

Come See What’s New

Whether someone is dealing with an injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply looking for ways to feel better and move more freely, Penrose invites the community to stop by the Open House or reach out to learn more about what’s available at the clinic.
