Putnam says she started her career in the restaurant industry, working nearly every position: manager, server, cook and even sushi chef. “I’ve always loved interacting with the community, and of course, good food, so it was a great fit for a long time,” she recalls. Putman especially enjoyed working in establishments that actively gave back to their community.
Her most recent food service employer sponsored golf tournaments, volunteered in schools, donated food and time to fundraisers and made it a priority to stay connected with people in their area.
After marrying wife Stephanie, Putman began looking for a job with more family-friendly hours so she could spend quality time with their family. “Working nights in the restaurant industry can be tough, and I wanted to be home for dinner and more present for our daughter,” she explains. “That’s when I decided it was time for a change.”

Putman’s wife Stephanie is in real estate and encouraged Desi to look into home inspection jobs. “As a realtor, she knew I’ve always been the kind of person who likes understanding how things work and pays close attention to detail, so she thought it would be a natural fit,” says Putman. “During those early conversations about changing careers, she told me about Boggs and the outstanding reputation they had built. Putman genuinely loves learning and plans to continue adding certifications to expand her expertise within the company. “One of the great things about working for Boggs is that growth and new ideas are always encouraged,” she says. “If I discover a new area that I’m passionate about or see an opportunity for the company to expand, I know I can bring those ideas to Dwayne. The sky really is the limit, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the team.”
She’s not even put off by finding a cougar in a crawlspace! “Thankfully it was dead,” she laughs, “but it still made me jump a little.”
Outside of work, Putman prioritizes family time and being outdoors whenever possible. She loves camping, paddleboarding, hikes with her wife and daughter, game nights, disc golf and fishing.
