Andrew Barkis of Hometown Property Management is excited to welcome the community to join him and his team on June 25, 2026, as they happily recognize their 30 years of serving residential property owners and home renters in Thurston, Mason and Lewis counties. Their open house runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lacey headquarters, offering an opportunity to enjoy delicious food, drinks, and network with local businesses, community leaders and neighbors.
“Come help us celebrate our 30 years,” says Barkis.
Hometown Property Management is working in conjunction with the Lacey South Sound Chamber to host this local free and fun event. “I am really excited for them,” says Lacey South Sound Chamber’s President-Elect Shelley Nicholson. “It’s a great milestone and I foresee a legacy that goes from generation to generation. We love celebrating accomplishments like a 30th anniversary.” And for these good reasons, this year the Chamber gave Hometown Property Management its 2026 Legacy Award as well as a Member of the Month recognition.
30-Year Milestone for Hometown Property Management’s Family, Employees and Community
Hometown is a full-service business that specializes in single family property management and offers a general contractor service for maintenance on the homes. Barkis began his property management career back in college. The business has expanded since then with a family-centered approach including his co-owner and spouse Lisa Barkis, general manager and son Cameron Barkis, co-owner and CFO Rob Rothwell, and several other long-time employees.
Not only is Hometown Property Management celebrating its 30-year anniversary, but it is also recognizing several important full-circle moments. One of those is its 2023 relocation from Olympia to its return to Lacey, a city where the business began. The office at 4804 Lacey Blvd. SE is in a charming, remodeled house that is the former home of the Lacey South Sound Chamber and Visitor Center back when Barkis served as Chamber board president. In another circular moment for Barkis, his son Cameron now also serves on that local Chamber board. And Barkis’ time with the Lacey South Sound Chamber leadership introduced him to Meredith Yenne, a former Chamber employee who joined Barkis as his assistant at Hometown Property Management more than 10 years ago.
Nicholson likewise observes that not only is Hometown Property Management a generational family business, but its employees are also well-established. “The employees have been a long time, which says something too, that people like working there,” she explains. “It’s definitely a family operation, and the staff are also like family.”
And the business is a long-time community participant and booster in Thurston County, supporting the Gateway Rotary Club of Thurston County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County and many more organizations and activities.

A large on-site tent means the June 25 open house is a “go” rain or shine. The community, family, the Hometown Property Management’s past and present tenants and owners, vendors, other local businesses, local officials, and Lacey South Sound Chamber members are all invited. “Several of those owners will be here, and we will acknowledge them as clients we have had for many years,” Barkis says. “It is a huge testament that we have served the same owners for a long time.”
Local radio stations KGY/KAYO will be live at the event from 2:30-4:30 p.m. The new local business BigFoot Wieners will be on hand to share some of its specialty custom hot dogs.
