Lavender lovers rejoice! The Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm will be open for the 2026 season, after debating being closed for this year. Thane and Peggy Bryenton are excited to open and welcome back customers who have really become dear friends. Opening weekend is June 26 and 27, 2026. If you’ve been missing the fields of purple, it’s almost here!

Owners of Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm Talk Injuries, Anniversaries and Not Saying Goodbye
One of the reasons the couple had pondered closing was due to injuries. Thane had a hip replaced two years ago and surgery on his shoulder in September 2025. His shoulder is healing well. “I have regained most of my strength and agility and I’m excited to continue working the fields so that we can enjoy seeing our guests again this Summer,” Thane shares. Peggy also had an injured shoulder, but Thane said that is also healed well and has allowed her to get back to the fields.
His hip is still giving him trouble but he assures us its not stopping them from continuing their work.
The couple has their own amazing milestone this year too – celebrating 50 years of marriage! Their anniversary is July 24, so they will be closing the farm a week early to celebrate.
While all things good must end, as they say, lucky for us, the Bryentons have decided it’s not quite time yet for the beloved Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm. Originally, part of the reason they had considered closing was to travel on their wedding anniversary. They said their customers changed their minds.
“Thane and I had discussed closing the farm to the public after last season, due to all of our medical conditions,” shares Peggy. “However, we opened during the holidays and our guests were saying that this was their favorite place to come, so we couldn’t imagine denying them that opportunity this coming season. We really do this more for the guests than ourselves. It’s so much fun to see them year after year and watch the families grow. We have families that have been coming here for 10 to 12 years.”
Thane adds that as long as they are healthy, they want to continue to share the farm for several years to come. “We’re both in our early seventies now, so things are just harder and it’s just Peggy and me that do all the work,” he says. “We occasionally have volunteers offer, which we greatly appreciate, but we don’t ask for help. We are beginning to accept the fact that we may need to hire laborers to do the things that we’re not able to anymore.”

Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm 2026 Opening Dates and Special Events
The Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm will open for the 2026 season June 26-27. They will then be open each Friday and Saturday for the next three weekends: July 3-4, July 10-11, and July 17-18. Closing day will by July 18 at 4 p.m.
This year, they are also having a lavender festival! The two-day event will have over a dozen vendors attending on July 10 and 11. “We are very excited to host a two-day Lavender festival this year. It’ll be the first time for us to do so,” shares Thane. “They’re all handcrafted products including stained glass, ceramics, jewelry and apparel, painted glassware, bird houses, soaps and body Care products, art, cookies, crocheted animals, gourmet hot dogs, local honey, specialty coffees and ice cream, even books! We will also have our famous lavender-lemonade from a distillery in Ellensburg.”
Their daughter is hosting Tumwater High School’s class of 1996 30-year reunion on the farm on July 25. And speaking of their daughter, while at the Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm be sure to check out her gift shop, The Flower and Vine. “Genevieve is a professional florist and has very unique and eclectic gifts in her shop as well,” shares Peggy. “She’ll be open the same days and times that our farm is.” Follow her on her Facebook page for her events and news.

If you need a lavender fix outside of the season, keep watch on the Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm Facebook page, as they do pop-ups during the holidays, Christmas and Valentine’s Day, for example, when they open their gift shop. You can purchase lavender-scented candles, soaps, lotions, dried lavender and more!
Wondering what to purchase when you visit? Peggy says just the atmosphere is what draws people to the farm. “We believe that the peace and serenity and the calm that our fields induce is what the majority of our guests come for,” she shares. “Of course, the fragrance and our handcrafted products is also a reason for coming. Our Valley is only a few miles off of Yelm highway, but it’s so private and quiet. There isn’t a day goes by that someone doesn’t say, ‘We have never been out here before.’ We have many seating areas amongst the flowers and people can picnic or read a book in the gazebo and just relax. The kids love our old 1949 International flatbed, we call ‘Mater’ and our most recent mascot, ‘Olivia,’ the old Oliver tractor.”
People come from all over the world to visit the Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm. Check out their map in the gift shop with pins from all the places people have come to visit the lavender fields.
Then just sit, relax, and soak up the beauty of the purples and greens. It’s finally summer.
