If seeing is believing then you will want to peek in at the new home of Eye Love Optometry now located at 409 Custer Way SE in Tumwater. Also known as Eye Love Olympia or Eye Love, the eye clinic’s staff are excited to show you their new, bigger and elevated space that offers advanced eye technology in a warm and inviting setting. And you can tour while enjoying treats, drinks and door prizes during an April 16, 2026, open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Owner and optometrist Dr. Sam Hamblet says they happily moved into the new space on March 1, 2026, because they can better serve the community. “The expanded office space creates an expanded capacity to help people,” she says.

Eye Love Moves Into New, Larger and More Elevated Space
Eye Love Optometry is known for providing eye care services with a fresh, modern take. Dr. Sam says that after opening in 2019, the business grew and they needed a bigger space. After about a year of planning and remodeling, the office moved just down the street into their fresh and bright new location.
In many ways, the new space is “eye opening.” The new office immediately establishes that Dr. Sam has an eye for creating space to implement advanced diagnostic technology as well as a fresh and uplifting environment that enhances their patients’ experiences.
The new office has five exam rooms plus two more dedicated to treating patients with dry eye disease, a clinic specialty. The expansion includes a larger optical showroom, more space for high-tech equipment and the lens manufacturing lab, plus improved work areas for staff. “Everyone is excited to have their own space,” says Dr. Sam. “They can customize and outfit it as they want.”
The new location also offers better parking, and a new sign will soon be installed in front of the building.
Dr. Sam also designed the interior decor, coupling pops of modern vivid colors with a warm Pacific Northwest vibe that features live edge wood slab display tables. “Someone described that the space is like walking into my brain,” says Dr. Sam of the impactful and welcoming setting. Her father Frank built the one-of-a-kind honey-colored cabinets nestled under display shelves with powder-coated neon green metal brackets. Lossing Construction was the main contractor, with Forever Powder Coating, Granite Gallery and Floor Express Abbey Carpet of Tumwater providing materials and expertise.

Eye Love Optometry in Tumwater Offers Patients Advanced Technology With In-Depth Eye Exams
Eye Love is a technologically-advanced optometry office. “[Dr. Sam] is in the forefront in the industry in innovation and technology,” says Director of Operations Tamera Gagliardi.
With improved space for new equipment, Eye Love Optometry offers more on-site high-tech and innovative diagnostics to screen and image eye disorders. “All our exams are digital,” explains Dr. Sam. She says the clinic collaborates with patients, showing them and discussing the in-depth eye imaging results. “We can walk them through the retina imaging,” she says. “We use infrared imaging of eyelids to look for concerns for dryness.”
Treating dry eye disease is a passion at Eye Love Optometry. “It’s the most fulfilling thing I have ever done in my career, to help people who felt they had no hope,” Dr. Sam explains.
While dry eye disease is a common debilitating eye condition, patients are often told they just must live with it. But Eye Love Optometry offers effective in-office treatments for the root causes of dry eyes. “We have the most comprehensive suite of dry eye equipment in the South Sound,” says Dr. Sam.
Eye Love Optometry Carries Creative, Hand-Crafted Frames to Highlight Your Style
Looking for eyeglasses that highlight your personal style? Eye Love’s expanded showroom displays a large variety of creative handcrafted frames from independent, small companies in the United States, Europe and Japan. “They are hand sourced,” Dr. Sam says. Some frames are made from surprising materials, like recycled record albums. “And there are two sisters in Paris who make hand-jeweled frames,” she adds.

Eye Love is a Warm, Friendly and Fun Optometry Office
Eye Love Optometry has been recognized for its outstanding optometry services and comfortable work environment, including receiving a South Sound Business “Best Boss” award. It’s no surprise why. “We like to have fun, we like to laugh, and it’s warm, friendly and inviting,” says Tamera.
As an eye doctor serving patients in Olympia, Tumwater and the Thurston County area, Dr. Sam is committed to healthy eyes, a healthy and fun work setting and a healthy community. Make an appointment or visit with the Eye Love Optometry team at the April 16, 2026, open house.
