NTPS School Board Selects Jeff Line as District 2 Board Director

Submitted by North Thurston Public Schools

The North Thurston Public Schools Board of Directors has selected Jeff Line to serve as District 2 director. He will be sworn in at the March 24 Board meeting.

Line is a long-time Thurston County resident, and his three children graduated from North Thurston Public Schools. He has served on the Capital Area Regional Public Facilities District Board and as the president of a local soccer club board. He works in human resources for a health care company.

Line told the Board he believes the district’s strengths include our strong strategic plan, our staff, and the district’s diversity. He identified opportunities to ensure a well-managed district budget, and support district staff.

“We are pleased to welcome Jeff to the Board,” said NTPS School Board President Esperanza Badillo-Diiorio. “With his experience and involvement with the district and community, the Board is confident he will be an excellent addition and make strong contributions to our work.”

Tim Bullus won the District 2 seat in the November 2025 election, but submitted his resignation to the Board, citing work conflicts that would prevent him from serving. The Board accepted the resignation at its January 13, 2026, meeting. The Board accepted applications from January 14 to February 27 and interviewed all five candidates at a special meeting today.

The NTPS School Board is the district’s primary policymaking body. Using a policy governance model, the Board:

  • Establishes the district’s vision and goals and holds the Superintendent accountable for achieving them through monitoring reports at Board meetings.
  • Adopts and monitors the annual district budget.
  • Hires and evaluates the Superintendent.
  • Participates in events and activities to ensure community voice is part of the decision-making process.
