If you are ready to put on your favorite white, orange and green outfit this week, there are some places you can go to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day near Olympia! Find corned beef, Irish music, an Irish Festival and more. Just remember, it’s St. Patrick’s Day or St. Paddy’s Day, never St. Patty’s Day!
Where to Find Corned Beef Near Olympia
If you are just craving some corned beef, then the luck of the Irish is with you because we have several places around the county where you can find corned beef in many forms – from hash to Reuben sandwiches.
Stewart’s Meats
17821 State Highway 507, Yelm
Olympia Farmers Market, Saturday Only
700 Capitol Way N, Olympia
If you want to cook your own corned beef, Stewart’s Meatsv has a special on corned beef, just $6.99 a pound. As a long-time maker of corned beef and cabbage, here is my suggestion. Put that corned beef in your crock pot in the morning, add water to just cover, and turn to high. About four hours before you are ready to eat, add small red potatoes and carrots. Then slice the cabbage and stick on top! Done! All you need now is some Irish Soda bread, which goes amazingly with honey butter, by the way.
Call ahead and make sure they are planning on having corned beef at the Olympia Farmers Market this Saturday.
Hash
1807 Harrison Ave NW, Olympia
As the name implies, Hash is a great place to start your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with some corned beef hash! Full of shredded potatoes, sweet onions and a Dijon cream sauce and served with two eggs and toast, it’s the perfect Irish-American breakfast.
Uptown Grill
514 Capito Way South, Olympia
Head to the Uptown Grill for their Reuben sandwich, made traditionally with sauerkraut, 1000 Island dressing, Dijon and Swiss cheese.
