FC Olympia is proud to celebrate a major milestone for Faith Nguyen, standout 2025 goalkeeper for FC Olympia in the USL W League officially signing a professional contract with Angel City FC of the NWSL on Wednesday January 14, 2026.
During her time with the Artesians in the USL W League Nguyen was nothing short of incredible in 2025. She was named FC Olympia Team MVP, served as club captain and played a pivotal role in leading FC Olympia to the USL W League National Playoff while capturing the USL W Northwest Conference title. Her leadership, composure and shot-stopping ability defined Olympia’s defensive identity throughout the season.
“Playing for FC Olympia has been great and the fan base and great crowds has been awesome” said Faith Nguyen during her 2025 season.
What makes this pro signing especially meaningful is how closely the Olympia soccer community experienced Faith Nguyen’s journey. Just months before signing her first professional contract Nuygen was playing in front of local Thurston County based youth players, signing autographs and representing FC Olympia on and off the field. Our community didn’t just watch a future pro, they shared the experience with her.
“From a leadership perspective we often wonder if the region knows that they’re seeing pro caliber soccer players in their backyard when attending USL matches” said FC Olympia President Ryan Perkins. “We are approaching 40 players that have signed pro contracts that have played for the Artesians since 2023 and love that local kid’s and our soccer community can see them play and get inspired.”
Faith Nguyen’s rise is a powerful example of what FC Olympia stands for bringing “path to pro” athletes to Thurston County every summer, creating access to elite soccer and inspiring the next generation of athletes. Seeing one of our own take the next step to the NWSL reinforces the impact of this club, this town and this soccer community.
