Mason Health is pleased to announce the opening of its newest facility, Mason Health-Evergreen Clinic, located at 1812 N. 13th Loop Rd., Shelton, WA 98584. The primary care clinic will welcome its first patients on Monday, Feb. 2, with initial operating hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Meet the Providers
- Carlos Rubio‑Reyes, MD, is a well-respected board-certified family medicine physician who initially joined Mason Health in January 2020 and will begin seeing patients in early February 2026 at the Evergreen Clinic. He earned his medical degrees from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and New York Medical College (both in 2013), completed his residency at University of Missouri Health Care in 2017, and previously trained as a pharmacist in Toronto. Fluent in Spanish, he is committed to serving underserved communities and offers comprehensive family medicine.
- Mathew (Mat) Kummerfeldt, PA‑C, is a seasoned Physician Assistant who will join Evergreen Clinic immediately on opening day. Kummerfeldt came to Mason Health in 2023, bringing nearly two decades of medical experience in inpatient, urgent, and emergency care to the District. His medical training began as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman, serving mostly with the Marine Corps, while also training as an Emergency Medical Technician. After active duty, Kummerfeldt trained as a Physician Assistant at the University of Washington’s MEDEX Northwest program. He is a board-certified physician assistant and is skilled in the delivery of primary care, addressing a wide range of health issues with patient-centered care.
Evergreen Clinic is designed to expand access to primary care in Mason County. With its morning-to-afternoon hours and bilingual care capabilities, the clinic aims to reduce barriers, offer timely appointments, and provide culturally responsive health services.
