If you have students in your life, you know how important it is for the schools to listen to your needs, continue to grow themselves and support your child’s development into a well-rounded individual. Evergreen Christian School, a private school in Olympia, is doing just that with its announcement of huge growth in 2026 based on feedback from students, their families, and staff, while continuing to offer an excellent, Christ-centered environment for your child to thrive.
“We’re expanding because God is moving in powerful ways within our community,” shares Olivia Hastie, dean of students. “Families are asking for more – more academic opportunities, deeper faith formation, and richer experiences in the arts, athletics, and student life – and we’re ready to meet that moment.”
Across the grade levels, students will enjoy new electives, more scheduling options, better communication systems, new club and athletic opportunities and more. New changes also include more pathways for students who need extra help or want more of a challenge. All of this comes with a continued focus on strong biblical integration.

Changes from Preschool through Middle School at Evergreen Christian
Evergreen Christian did not take the job of growth lightly. They spent long hours going through parent surveys and other forms of community feedback. Anchored by a forward-looking vision, they charted a course for upgraded offerings from preschool through middle school. Then, the plan was evaluated by educators and administration staff to ensure it met with the school’s high standards for academics, Christ-centered education and whole-child development.
At the preschool level, Evergreen Christian is expanding due to tremendous growth, including the addition of Transitional Kindergarten, for children ages 4 to 5 who need an in-between step before entering Kindergarten. “With our loving, dedicated staff leading the way, we’re adding new classes at every level to meet demand,” shares Olivia. She adds that Transitional Kindergarten gives students a “wonderful bridge that builds confidence, readiness, and a strong early foundation.” In addition, they are now offering preschool classes for students as young at 2 years, giving your child the chance to engage with peers and learn in a loving and nurturing group environment from the very start.
Students at Evergreen Christian’s elementary school are enjoying new classes across the grade levels to keep up with demand in kindergarten through fifth grade. “Students enjoy enhanced academic support, new enrichment experiences, and stronger pathways in areas such as technology, fine arts, reading and math development, and hands-on learning,” Olivia shares. “We nurture curious, confident, Christ-centered learners.”
Grades sixth through eighth are also getting more options, focusing on meeting students where they are at academically, socially and spiritually. New classes focus on supporting growth. They will have more electives, leadership opportunities, student organizations and academic pathways. The goal is to set up your child for high school success – not just in academics, but in maturity as well. “These new offerings strengthen the community, challenge students, and help them discover their God-given gifts,” adds Olivia.
“These new offerings will allow us to serve students with greater excellence, support their unique gifts, and prepare for the growth ahead, including the launch of our high school,” Olivia shares. “This is a season of momentum, blessing, and expanding impact, and we’re grateful to step into it together.”
