The City of Lacey (City) is recruiting for two vacancies on the Planning Commission. Each vacancy is a first-term position, expiring January 2, 2029. The applicant residency requirements for each position are:
- Must reside within the Lacey city limits or within the Urban Growth Area.
- Must reside within the Lacey city limits.
The nine-member Lacey Planning Commission develops recommendations to the Lacey City Council related to long-range comprehensive planning goals and policies in Lacey. The Planning Commission meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, at 6 p.m. at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street SE.
To help reduce barriers to participation in government and increase representation, the City’s Advisory Board members are eligible for a $50 stipend per meeting, up to $500 per year. This aims to offset expenses for participating on an advisory board, such as childcare coverage during meetings, transportation to and from meetings, internet access for meetings, and other direct financial impacts.
